today i want to tell you how you can repair your xbox 360 console on your own. If you are looking for a guide how to repair rod, what stands for "ring of death", of your xbox 360 console just grab a chair and read through the following lines of enlightment. Basically we are going to talk about the 3 basic things you have to think about if you want to repair your xbox 360 on your own: First of all we are going to talk about the symptoms that show that your xbox 360 console is damaged.

So here we go: 2 month ago it happened to my sons: ROD - their brand new xbox 360 froze and we thought it is broken. After some hours of investigation on the internet i was able to interpret the symptoms the console showed. In principle there are 4 different types of xbox 360 problems:
1 red light - this means you have some kind of hardware error
2 red lights - your console is to hot, you have to turn it off and you can turn it back on when it is cooled off
3 red lights - ring of death: the most severe hardware failure you can get
4 red lights - this is not so bad: your AV cable is loose - fix it!
Ok now that you know the different types of a broken xbox 360 lets go on to actually fixing the problem: There are two ways how to fix the hardware failures of the xbox 360:
You can take it to your vendor, who will send it in to microsoft, or you can get a guide and do it on your own. (doing it on your own will fix the problem instantly while sending the console in takes lots of weeks) If the long time was the least problem with the microsoft repair i would just have my sons told "go out and play something else for some weeks" but the long time was not the only problem. When we talk about fixing the problem we also have to talk about costs of the repair: If you send your console to microsoft you have to pay over 100$ for repair, shipping and transaction! But if you get a guide you can do it on your own and save a lot of money and nerves.
Furthermore, if you get a guide, you also get the ability to repair as many xbox 360 consoles as you want and you can even make money out of it. So if you dont want to waste your money on paying some lazy microsoft technicians get your guide and do it on your own like i did it. source here
